Stewkley Food Bank Donation – please help others

Stewkley Parish Council is asking parishioners to consider making a donation to the St. Michaels school food bank. Donations are bagged up and given to the vulnerable families in the parish with young children who would normally get free school meals.

The food bank donations box is located just outside the school door and is accessible between 8am and 4pm Monday to Friday. The school has installed CCTV outside the drop-off area to protect your donations. Please do not attempt to go into the school building itself.

The following list of food and other items is recommended by the Trussell Trust for food banks.

  • Cereal
  • Soup
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
  • Lentils, beans and pulses
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tea/coffee
  • Tinned fruit
  • Biscuits
  • UHT milk
  • Fruit juice
  • Toiletries and hygiene products.

The Parish Council can also access the food parcels to support vulnerable people in the Stewkley community who are not connected to the school, if the need arises.
Thank you for your generosity. We find ourselves in exceptional circumstances and some amongst us will be more affected than others. Let’s do what we can to make sure we all get through this together.
