Neighbourhood Plan Newsletter – August 2017
WHERE IS STEWKLEY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN PROCESS?
The target for the initial draft of the Stewkley neighbourhood plan is September 2017.
The target for the plan being adopted is the summer of 2018.
PUBLIC EXHIBITION:
A public exhibition was held at Stewkley Village Hall on Saturday July 15.
More than 250 villagers attended to view the details of proposed development sites and initial plans for some proposed developments.
There was also a draft of the suggested new development boundary.
The next opportunity for public comment will be on the draft plan — provisionally scheduled for September.
THANK YOU FOR FEEDBACK:
The Stewkley neighbourhood planning team and Stewkley Parish Council would like to thank all villagers who visited the exhibition and left comments.
In total 85 comments were provided during the day, with 49 of them related to specific sites, 22 of them about the new boundary map and 14 general comments about the exhibition.

SOULBURY ROAD UPDATE:
Members of the parish council and the neighbourhood planning team met with Denison Investments Ltd, who are representing the landowners of the new Soulbury Road development.
It was confirmed during discussions that the site would be sold to a ‘medium- sized’ housing developer.
Regarding the project’s timescale,
the developers said it was likely to be 12 months before a planning application was submitted and then a further 24-36 months for the building work to take place.
