HRH Prince Philip 10 June 1921 – 9 April 2021

HRH Prince Phillip

Following the sad news of the death of the Duke of Edinburgh, Stewkley Parish Council has received some guidance on actions that may be considered by those who wish to join in the national mourning, showing their respects for the long life of Prince Philip and sending condolences to the Queen and the Royal family.

Because of the pandemic. books of condolence are discouraged, however messages of condolence are most welcome on the Royal website www.royal.uk

The Palace has also requested that people consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, or one of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Patronages, in lieu of floral tributes to his memory.

The Union Flag standing in the grounds of St. Michael’s church will remain at half-mast until after the funeral, in line with all public buildings. The Prince’s funeral will take place at 3pm on Saturday 17 April.

The Toll bell of St. Michael’s church was tolled on Friday evening as many may have heard.
